Free birth control doesn’t promote risky behavior

Researchers at the School of Medicine have shown that providing women with free contraception does not increase the likelihood that they will have sex with multiple partners, as critics of the practice have suggested. Shown is the study’s first author, Gina Secura, PhD.

29 WUSTL students invited to attend CGI U

More than two dozen WUSTL students have been invited to attend Clinton Global Initiative University at Arizona State University this weekend. One team’s project would help loved ones connect after disasters. Graduate student De Andrea Nichols was chosen to help open the meeting tonight. WUSTL hosted last year’s event.

Biggs Lecture in Classics features acclaimed Athenian archaeologist John Camp

World-renowned archaeologist John M. Camp will give this year’s John and Penelope Biggs Lecture in the Classics for the Assembly Series. His lecture, “Greece Between Antiquity and Modernity: View of Two Early 19th-Century Travelers” will be at 4 p.m. Thursday, March 27, in Steinberg Hall Auditorium.

Bill signed on Medical Campus lowers cost of cancer drugs​

Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon signed legislation Wednesday, March 19, on the Medical Campus to increase the affordability and accessibility of oral chemotherapy medications. The measure limiting patients’ out-of-pocket costs takes effect Jan. 1.

‘For the Sake of All’ project gets community feedback

Jason Q. Purnell, PhD (left), lead researcher of a landmark multidisciplinary study on African-American health and well-being in St. Louis, visited with community members March 18 at the Forest Park Visitors Center. The yearlong study held an open house to solicit feedback on the research.
